The Injury Healed. Why Don’t You Trust It Yet?
Here is a situation that does not get discussed nearly enough.
The injury is better. The scan was clear, or there was never a scan because there did not need to be. The pain has largely gone. By every measure anyone has applied, you have recovered.
And you still are not doing the thing.
You have not been back on the trail. You have not lifted that properly since. You take the stairs carefully. You decline things with reasons that sound plausible and are not quite the real reason.
That gap, between a body that has healed and a person who does not yet trust it, is one of the most common things we deal with. It is also one of the least talked about, because it does not feel like a legitimate medical problem.
